Hi and thank you for choosing HCM to share your concern.
I read carefully your question and i agree that this kind of
chest pain has the characteristics of an chest pain related to Gastroesophageal reflux and the times your chest feels constricted and tight it relates to epigastric spasms.
It would be good to know what kind of medication and what dosage your doctor prescribed and understand why they didnt gave results on you .
The treatment is based on lifestyle modification and control of
gastric acid secretion through medical therapy with antacids such as
Ranitidine,proton pomp inhibitor such as
omeprazole and in extreme situation(which i dont think is your case)with corrective antireflux surgery.
lifestyle modification include :
Elevate the head of bed
Avoid eating for several hours before sleeping Reduce weight if you are overweight
Avoid caffeine,
nicotine,alcohol
Eat multiple small meals
Since the list of food and beverages is extensive it requires ti do a personal journal of dietary intake and symptoms.
Hope my opinion is a help to you.
Wish you good health
Kind Regards
Dr.Dushi
