Suggest Treatment For Dislocated Hip

I injured my hip, my doctor says he thinks its partially dislocated but I cant get an mri for another 2 weeks is it safe to wait that long for treatment?
I had an xray in the er and they said it was not fractured or broken, but if it is in fact dislocated shouldn't it be set asap
