Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
At the age of 73 I have been recently told by a cardiologist that I have a distended aorta. At this time the Dr. recommended that we monitor the situation and to another test in one year. I am relatively active and have no existing chest pain or indications of heart problems. What can you tell me about this problem?
Your problem don't need direct treatment. The only thing which should be done avoid high blood pressure. And you will need follow up visits to evaluate your aorta. In this case intervention is done only if there is a complication. So I would advise you not to worry, keep following healthy lifestyle and monitor your blood pressure.
Hope I could help you
