Suggest Treatment For Divarication Of Recti

I have been diagnosed with divarication of recti which is causing me discomfort and my GP suggested surgery which he thought was a good idea (despite being mostly cosmetic) in severity he described my case as 6/10 but i have long history of lower problem that is not being helped by the DR. Would you advise surgery as being useful?
