Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. The headache on left side with dizziness could be due to
: Migraine - If your headache is throbbing type, associated with nausea, vomiting, photophobia(fear from light), occurring for hours and then spontaneous relief, occurring after some aura like symptoms like bad smell/weakness/bad taste, then it should be Migraine type headache.
Management includes
; avoid bright light
; avoid mental and physical stress
; avoid few food objects like cheese, chocolate, citrus fruits - avocado/lemon/orange which can induce it
; take painkiller like
Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
; If still no relief, you can take
Propranolol, Naproxen-
Domperidone, Triptans after proper prescription.
: It could be due to focal lesion left side of skull - It can be confirmed by CT or MRI brain. Usually headache is dull aching, associated with heaviness, vomiting, some focal deficit like visual blurring/weakness.
For management, you have to
consult doctor. Based on CT/MRI report, doctor may decide surgery or medical management. Meanwhile for pain relief, you can take
; Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
; keep your head at higher level than chest
: Sinusitis headache - If your headache is on left side forehead and occurring more on bending forward, day time, in cold environment, associated with nasal blockade,
post nasal discharge, it could be due to
frontal sinusitis.
For management, you can
; avoid cold objects and environment
; steam inhalation 4 - 5 times daily
; warm saline nasal drops every 2-3 hours
; take combination of Paracetamol-Cetrizine-
Xylometazoline combination
; take antibiotic therapy like Co-amoxyclav therapy after proper prescription
Hope it will help you. Still no relief, you can consult doctor.
Thanks. Take care.
