Hi,
There is a possibility of Intestinal infection with
septicemia as per the history you have provided.
Since he has visited the ER, there must have been some investigations and some medications which you have not mentioned.
Hence I would advise him the following:
Consult the regular Doctor for clinical evaluation ,examination and investigations to find the causes.
Tests of blood for CBC, culture and sensitivity and tests for liver, pancreas and kidney.
Tests of stool and urine.
Ultrasonography of abdomen and X-rays of chest.
Any other investigations as per the reports to find the cause.
This will allow the specific treatment.
Till then he should receive symptomatic and supportive management in the form of an antibiotic,
Metronidazole,
Paracetamol and as needed.
Proper replacement of fluid and electrolytes will help for weakness and
dizziness.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
