Suggest Treatment For Double Vision With Blurriness While On Abilify, Lomotirigene And Hydroxyzine

Hi. my 19 year old daughter just started experiencing double vision with blurriness. Medications she is on are abilify, lomotirigene, hydroxyzine, and a nova ring. Should she go to emergency if it could be a detached retina? Or do you think we can wait to make a dr. appointment. Unfortunately it will be with a new doctor to us, as our regular one has just left the practice to move.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms suggest a muscle co ordination defect, leading to double vision. These symptoms do not suggest retinal detachment. She has to contact a general physician to look into the issue. A complete eye examination will rule out any eye disorder.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. N. K. Misra, Ophthalmologist
