Suggest Treatment For Drainage In Back Of Throat And Ears

Hi I've been experiencing a lot of drainage in the back of my throat and ears also bumps on the back of my tongue , I recently went to a walk in and the md said it seems to be strep , I was given amox 875 , then a few days later I called to let them no that wasn't working so a zpak was called in nothing seems to be working for me !!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have drainage in back of throat and ears along with bumps on the back of tongue means you are suffering from sinusitis and due to sinusitis there is discharge at the back of the throat , which is also known as post nasal drip. I would suggest you to You should put Otrivin nasal drops for relief. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing. You antimicrobial mouth wash such as Listerine for proper cleaning of oral cavity. Consult ENT specialist for proper checkup . Doctor may order test like throat swab test , viral culture test and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with decongestant and anti inflammatory . For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day.
