Suggest Treatment For Dry And Dark Skin

hi doctor, i m pramod my problem is that my skin is dry in winter time it becomes more dry i feel saginess on my skin and my face also become so dark and uneven i am using melcare for fair and uneven skin issue on my skin. an for dryness i am using olesoft cream, but it showing no result in my skin. what to do to combat this problem?

Hi Pramod. Melacare has mometsone and mometasone should not be used for a long time. It has many side effects. On long term use, melacare might increase the pigmentation, rather than improving it. Here is one link to make you aware of issues associated with long term use of mometasone, a mid potent steroid.

Stop melacare immediately. Use kojic acid 2% twice daily. Its not gonna work as fast as melacare, but it has no side effect. Add a good quality moisturizer like cetaphil or dewsoft. Avoid soap or face wash and use a syndet based cleanser like cetaphil cleansing lotion. You should understand that all this are temporary measures. I think you should consult a dermatologist to allow assessment of damages due to prolong melacare use. Hope it helps
