Suggest Treatment For Dry And Swollen Lips

I m facing a problem of lips for 5 years now.....n I have tried each n every thing which exists in this world to treat my lips.......The upper layers of my lips skin comes out when it got dry or swollen after every bath.....n it is affecting my personality.......I want a cure.......plz help me...

Hello Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The symptoms you describe in your query Can be caused by various conditions ranging from simple chapped lips to more serious condition like infection ,chronic allergy and auto immune disease like corhn's disease .

I would suggest you to to immediately stop licking and picking of your lips , because it will it away natural moisture of your lips and make then dry and swollen in long run, apply lip balm with SPF factor 15 ( sun burn can also cause dry and swollen lips), keep yourself hydrate by drinking plenty of water and start taking vitamine B2 and niacin supplement .

If condition persist even after doing above treatment then consult dermatologist and oral pathologist both for proper examination and to rule out conditions like sarcoidosis and crohn's disease . Doctor may prescribe drugs like isotretinoin ,antihistamine drug for allergy ,immuno suppressants or antifungal drug .
