Suggest Treatment For Dry Cough With Throat Discomfort
Hello, I have had a chronic throat clearing problem causing mild discomfort but no pain for several months now. I always feel a tickle before and must make an abnormal sound akin to a hiss to clear up my dry throat. Also, sometimes I feel as if saliva is dripping into my trachea, and then I go into a coughing fit to choke it back up. Thanks for your help, Bart

It is possible that your pain is related to post nasal drip. This is the drip of mucus to the back of the throat, most common related to allergy to some stimulus.
It can cause coughing.
The use of a topical steroid nasal spray and oral antihistamine would help.
If you can identify the source of the allergy then avoidance would also help.
