Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Green Color Puss Inside Ear
Went to the doctors yesterday, was prescribed antibiotics and ear drops. I'm on my second pill (out of three) and I'm still in a lot of pain. I was told my ear is probably going to rupture or it is ruptured, she couldn't really see it because there was a lot of green puss (I believe she said) blocking it.
If my ear doesn't drain itself, what will happen? Will I have to go back and get it sucked out, or have a tube put in my ear? This is my first ear infection since I was very young. I'm almost 20.
I'm very scared, that it's not going to drain out. Please help, and nothing sarcastic.
Hi, Your description suggests an acute infection of middle ear and antibiotics with nasal and oral decongestants form the part of treatment. If the infection does not resolve with antibiotics, the next course will be, either the pus will come out on its own or a myringotomy will be required. If your doctor is seeing pus in ear canal, the chances of perforation already present is there. Please continue with antibiotics and if the pain does not subside, see an ENT. Regards
