Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Tinnitus

Hello. I had NPC in 2002 for which I received chem and radiotherapy. Now I often have ear problems, infections, blocked ear, which makes me feel dull. Now my right ear is blocked and i can not hear from it. I also have bad tinnitus. I want to know if a grommet wold help. I heard that NPC survivors don t adapt to grommets well, in that one get a continual oozing of fluids from the ear...is this true?

hi...you are suffering from post radiotherapy side effects and changes where there is temporal bone osteitis and Eustachian tube fibrosis. your ear canal must have become narrow, there must be changes in canal skin(deepithelialisation) ,excoriation+debris+wax accumulation which is blocking the ear and it is not able to come out. there is Eustachian tube dysfunction because of radiation fibrosis.. no grommets wont help..you need to get a suction clearance done at frequent intervals done by ENT specialist..you can occassionaly use ear buds yourself.
