Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain And Pressure On Ear
Hello, I have had an ear ache and pressure in my left ear for over 2 months. I had a very bad cold, virus to start. I have taken 2 rounds of antibotics. I went to the ear, nose & throat doctor, but I am unsure of his diagnoses. He put me on another round of antibotics and steriods for 10 days. He said my inner ear is swollen, but I do not have an ear infection or sinus infection. I have chronic neck, shoulder and back pain. He told me if this doesn t get better in 10 days then I would need a CT scan. What would they be looking for?
Noted your history well and understood the concerns. CT scan is done in such a case to if there is build up of fluid in mastoid cavity that can cause same symptoms and if at all there are any other problems like erosion of the small bones of ear, internal structure and so on. Hence it is better to get the tests done as advised. Take proper course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines, decongestant and so on. Do not blow nose. For the pain in the neck shoulder and back your regular Doctor would add on local liniments, muscle relaxants and so on as per the findings.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
