Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain Caused After An Injury
I was hit in the ear with a foam football over Memorial Day Weekend. Immediate pain and throbbing. At first mild hearing loss (everything sounded muffled). Pain to touch subsided after about a week. I have milder but still throbbing pain in the ear (feels like an ear infection), especially when the wind is blowing across it. I am 27 and have tubes in my ears. Do I need to get this checked out or will it continue to subside?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain it seems that due to sudden physical trauma to the tooth caused by hitting with football there is a possibility that it has led to rupture of the ear drum and it is the cause for muffled hearing, pain and throbbing.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get an Otoscopic examination done and in case if there is a small perforation antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and decongestants will relieve.. But large perforations need surgical correction.. As of now you can take Ibuprofen for pain and stay away from loud sounds and do not swim if you do..
Hope this information helps..
