Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having left ear pain. The pain started yesterday morning. Pain is getting worse w/time. Sometimes it is a gradual increase in pain sometimes it's a shot of pain w/ a pause in between pain. Pain is increasing and w/seconds between each on. I have taken Ibuprofen and it has not touched the pain. Not sure what I can do so help the pain until Monday when the Dr. Office opens.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain pain in ear can occur due to a number of reasons like Middle ear infections, blockage and overproduction of ear wax, otitis media, foreign body penetration in ear, sinusitis, eustachian tube dysfunction etc.. You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a detailed examination of the inside of ear can be done by an Otoscope to rule out the exact cause of pain and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can take painkillers like Advil or Tramadol [if pain is severe] and also do warm compresses over the ear..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
