Suggest Treatment For Eczema In A Kid

Hi we have tried everything for eczema. Medicines, creams, lotions etc. NOTHING works. We been to several doctors and they just give her prednisone for the itching. It s so severe that she scratches her skin off in patches. Her skin has become very dark and scaly. Is there anything else we can do to ease this child s suffering. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* So far as chronic eczema is concerned, it is usually recurrent infection with or without compromised immune system responsible for the same.

* In our clinic, we focus on identifying the root cause with allergy tests swab test for cultural sensitivity and other evaluation to check any relevant systemic issue.

* Till the thorough workup and diagnosis of the cause are being done, local application of turmeric paste and sitz bath with Epsom salt and lavender oil are best herbal remedies to support the child in this agony.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
