Ihad my gallbladder removed due a gallstone and elevated bilirubin levels in blood . After the surgery with one week bilirubin levels are still high , and my doctor doesn't know why .he also noticed from the surgery that my liver was blue in color ( pale navy blue ) and he doesn't no why too. I'm a 20 year old male bilirubin level before surgery :total 3.23 direct 1.7 indirect 1.53 Bilirubin level after surgery : total 3.81 direct 1.69 indirect 2.12 All liver enzymes tests were normal before and after surgery Tested negative for hep A , B , C
post cholecystectomy pain maybe due to stones in common bile duct OR increased fat intake OR functional pain. need further evaluation.
advice: - get an ultrasound (abdomen) to rule out any stone remnants in common bile duct - also get a complete blood cell count(CBC) test - avoid OILY food altogether - for few weeks, you may need to take nexium/pantocid 40mg once daily before breakfast - avoid eating stomach full and mouth full - avoid spicy food
wish you good health. further queries are welcomed.
wish you good health. regards, Dr Tayyab Malik
