Suggest Treatment For Elevated Blood Pressure And Swollen Ankles

Hello, Due to recent elevated blood pressure I have been on 10mg Amlodipine for about 6 wks, but it has caused very swollen ankles, legs & weight gained, etc, etc, etc. I have therefore had my medication changed to Folpik XL 10mg. Could I ask if these should improve the current side effects or if they will cause other side effects? Hope you can advise Many thanks & best regards Mark Warom

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern the swelling of ankle may not be due to the antihypertensive medicine but reason could be something else, if you changed the drug on your own then this is not advisable because you were not suppose to do this let your doctor decide this, you ought to inform this to your doctor, now better have a word with doctor, some time swelling could be due to hypertension it self, take care.
