Suggest Treatment For Elevated Ua Levels

Can high uric acid level onset stomach upset and arrhythmia on a patient having medication after a heart surgery?, if yes what makes the UA levels elevated, any of the medications?

Rajan, 169 cm, 56kgs, had a mitral valve repair with CE ring placement and 5 CABG grafts some 3 yrs back. on medication now. starpress xl 50,TelsartanH,liponorm,clopitabA75

Hello,

uric acid won't cause any symptoms in itself. This is particularly so for stomach upset and arrhythmia. Diuretics like the one contained in Telsartan-H may increase blood uric acid levels. Increased uric acid levels need treatment when one of the following conditions exist:
- history of gout
- uric acid renal stones
- uric acid skin nodules
- after treatment of tumors/hematologic malignancies which cause a very high level of uric acid in the blood.
