Suggest Treatment For Engorged Throat And Neck

My neck and area around my throat feel engorged and uncomfortable. My physician says it may be my salivary glands and has sent me to an ENT specialist. This feeling of engorgement has been going on for about 3 months or so. Is there treatment for this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your short history of feeling engorged in throat and neck, Family Physician says this may be due to salivary glands and sent you to the ENT Surgeon.
Surely yes, this can be treated if the cause is found specifically.
I would advise you the following in such a situatuion:
Providing complete history including the factors that increase or reduce your problems.
ENT Surgeon will have a clinical evaluation, examination and may ask for CT scan of the area to know the exact cause.
If the engorgement is due to thyroid or salivary glands you may need tests of blood and FNAC of the organ to know the better diagnosis.
Once a proper diagnosis is done this will be treated as per the cause found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
