Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Kidneys In The Fetus

I am 23 weeks pregnant and was told at ultrasound that my baby (girl) has enlarged kidneys 5mm and was told this is a soft marker for Downs. I am 39 years old and all of my blood work came back fine 1:2,000 chance with the Quad test. I am still worried sick about this. All the research I have done says this is very common in boys and not girls.. Should I be even more concerned since this baby is a girl.. This was the only soft marker found on the ultrasound. please help!!

hi yes enlarges kidneys are common in boys in normal circumstances and it's true that the risk for Down's in increase but since your quad test is normal and other ultrasound markers are normal so I don't think there is anything to worry .but still to be on safer side you can undergo an amniocentesis which will confirm the diagnosis . all the best take care .
