Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Lymph Node On Upper Neck

My son is 16 years old, 5'8", 140 lbs. He noticed an enlarged lymph node on the right side of his upper neck several weeks ago. The doctor ordered test, which according to the nurse I spoke with, showed elevated ALP levels (192). A CT scan was done with contrast. The only information I have received is that he needs to have a biopsy, because of the size, which is about the size of a nickel and protrudes out about a 1/4 inch when his head is tilted down. I know that nothing is conclusive without the biopsy, but the waiting is torture, mentally. I want to ease my mind.
