Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On Friday I ate and my stomach did not digest my food. I have been sick since then. I went to the doctor today cause i figured I was dehydrated cause I have not been able to drink much and have only been doing liquids for 3 days. They gave me IV s and did a scan. They said my Pancreas is enlarged and I need to have it checked. All my blood work came back ok so not worried about cancer. Had my Gallbladder out about 12 years ago. They are talking about another test. What can I expect from here.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Several conditions, such as pancreatitis, pancreatic pseudocyst, or a pancreatic tumor, could cause an enlarged pancreas (pancreatic enlargement). To diagnose the underlying cause, your doctor may recommend further tests, such as an abdominal CT scan, MRI, or EUS (endoscopic ultrasound).
Treatment will depend on the underlying cause and may involve antibiotics, pain management, or, in some cases, surgery. You should follow your doctor's advice and continue with the recommended tests and treatments to manage your condition effectively.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
