General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The treatment of eosinophilia depends on the cause. It is not an illness on it own but a biological manifestation of many medical conditions.Eosinophils function by Destroying foreign substances and Regulating inflammation.Eosinophilia occurs when a large number of eosinophils are recruited to a specific site in your body or when the bone marrow produces too many eosinophils.Possible causes may include:
-Parasitic and fungal diseases
-Allergies including allergies to medications or food
-Adrenal conditions
-Skin disorders
-Toxins
-Autoimmune diseases
-Endocrine disorders
-Tumors
-And many others
Only a keen medical examinatio by your Doctor with some lab tests may help to identify the exact cause.Lab tests will be requested based on the signs and symptoms you are presenting. It would have been nice if you told us of your symptoms for orientation on possible lab tests.
You condition could as well be due to hypereosinophilic syndrome. If this is the case your Doctor may place you on corticosteroids and follow you up.This will however be the judgement og your Doctor.Just discuss it with him.
Hope this will help
Wish you good health
