General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is not recommended to discontinue epilepsy medication without consulting your doctor, as sudden discontinuation can lead to seizure recurrence. It is important to continue taking your medication as prescribed by your doctor to control your seizures. If you have experienced seizures after discontinuing Valparin-200, you should speak to your doctor as soon as possible. Your doctor may recommend restarting the medication or switching to a different medication, depending on your case and medical history.

Additionally, it is important to follow your doctor's instructions regarding medication dosage and timing. Missing a dose or taking medication at irregular times can also increase the risk of seizure recurrence. In addition to medication, other treatment options for epilepsy include lifestyle modifications such as stress reduction, regular sleep patterns, and avoiding triggers that can provoke seizures. In some cases, surgical intervention may also be an option. Your doctor can help determine the best course of treatment for you based on your case.
