Suggest Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction

Hi, I have a problem with maintaining erections and reaching orgasm. I am 18 years old, and started having sex regularly with a healthy and attractive girl a year older than I. The problem is I often start losing my erection during vaginal intercourse, and also find it incredibly hard to reach orgasm from my girlfriend (whether it be oral, vaginal, or with hands). Can you please help me?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Dear service user,
Thank you for writing to Healthcaremagic.

I can understand your concern about erectile dysfunction with your partner.

An occasional episode of erectile failure due to functional or situational reasons like fatigue, tension or own ''pressure to 'perform' rather to enjoy'' is very common. This diminishes arousal level and hence erection too. This seems in your case. This 'failure' of erection makes one feel 'I should perform best' and he 'tries to erect’. This in turn further leads to lack of erection.

Just enjoy kindling and loving with touch in the way both of you feel comfortable, rather than focusing about your performance and 'pressure to satisfy' her. This is called ''sensate focus'' exercise. Psychiatrist can help you for this. This will also help you to treat the delayed orgasmic response.

What you need to do is to consult a psychiatrist well versed with psycho sexual therapies. He will definitely assist you to come out of this problem.
Warm regards.
