Suggest Treatment For Estrogen Withdrawal When Diagnosed With Osteoarthritis

I was taking 1.25 mg of Enjuvia, a conjugated estrogen, but the company is no longer producing it and i m going through estrogen withdrawal. Although i m 72, i m in generally excellent health but have had two open heart surgeries and a peripheral nerve surgery on my two major occipital nerves. Also, was diagnosed with extreme degenerative osteoarthritis. Because of heart and skeletal issues, research has indicated-and my cardiologist has concluded- i should remain on estrogen. (I have an iud used off label to provide prophylactic protection to my uterus because i always have an allergic reaction to anything with the slightes amount of progestin in it.) am panicked. Do i try natural estrogen like estrone? Birth control pills, i ve read, have higher does of estrogen than would be good for a menopausal female.

Apart from enjuvia there are two other synthetic estrogens used for harmone replacement therapy.one is premarin and other is Cenestin. premerin is derived from animal while cenestin and enjuvia are derived from plants but both are not exactly equal.It is better you consult a qualified gynaecologist who can do physical examination as well as required investigations and suggest you alternative for enjuvia. birth control pills are not suggested in this age and with cardiac problems. estrone harmone should not be taken on your own without drs advise.dose of any medicine depends on several factors like age,sex,concomittant diseases,other medications taken by the patient etc. any harmone should be optimum other wise problematic.It is true that estrogen prevents osteoporosis and menopausal symptoms, higher than optimum levels of estrogen carry the risk of causing breast cancer, endometrial cancer,stroke,thrombotic episodes.apart from medication you need to maintain balanced diet and exercise like walking daily- will help you to lead a healthy life.
