Suggest Treatment For Excessive Fatigue While On Pravastatin
I have been on pravastatin for over three weeks. I just get more and more tired by the day. I have NO energy no matter what my diet is. All I want to do is go lay down. This is not normal for me. I am WF, 60, and moderately overweight with two heart stents.
Hi most common worldwide efect of statin is severe myopathy, Myopathy is a general term for disease of the muscles, and it is usually characterized by weakness. In the setting of statin treatment, myopathy is used to describe any muscle problem, whether or not it is actually related to the statin use. Myalgia refers specifically to pain in the muscles. in this regard, it is interesting to note that in the PRIMO study, (pravastatin and fluvastatin) were least likely to cause myalgia, whereas simvastatin, the most lipophilic one, was most likely to be associated with muscular adverse effects , you can ask your doctor to shift you to fenofibrinates or niacin or lipitor or lower he doses
