Suggest Treatment For Excessive Sweating During Menopause
Hello I m a 38 year old woman. I had breast cancer at age 33 in my right breast. And I also had my ovaries removed. I start going through menopause and I have tried a lot different medications. Then I was having trouble with my wrist the doctor I saw he prescribed me prednisone. Then within 3 weeks I went from a 125 lbs to 180 lbs. I have lost some weight. I weigh 156 lbs and I m 5 1. This is my problem that I sweat a lot then I get goosebumps why does that happen and I have hot flashes from my feet to my head.
Several medications have been shown to help with symptoms, including clonidine (a blood pressure medication), low doses of certain antidepressants (such as venlafaxine and fluoxetine), and gabapentin. Non medical interventions include. Drinking ice water or apply an ice pack at the onset of a hot flash.
Exercising on a regular basis and practicing meditation or relaxation exercises to manage stress. Wearing cotton or lightweight, breathable fabrics.Avoiding triggers such as warm rooms, spicy foods and caffeine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
