Suggest Treatment For Excessive Tiredness, Weakness In The Legs And Back Pain
My son is 19 and in college. He plays lacrosse for the university. He is very physically fit. Although, for about the past 4 months he continues to complain of excessive tiredness and weakness in his legs. He goes to a chiropractor often to help with pain in his back. This does relieve the back pain temporarily. I am just concerned with his energy level and fatuqie he has in his legs.
Such weakness as you describe may have different causes like myositis, hypothyroidism, chronic infection/inflammation, liver or kidney issues, etc. So the first step would be to have some routine screening blood tests like blood glucose, liver and kidney function, creatine kinase and aldolase levels, electrolyte panel, thyroid function, complete blood count, ESR and CRP levels in order to screen for changes in the setting of the above mentioned conditions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka,
Neurologist
