Suggest Treatment For Excruciating Pain From Spasms In My Left Jaw
I have excruciating pain from spasms in my left jaw. I have had jaw pain for many years, and have gone to many doctors and tried many different paths with no help. I have worn mouth guards, gone to specialists in TMJ problems, have been to a pain clinic, tired acupuncture, even tried rolfing. On and on. Sometimes I can barely eat, or talk. I am desperate for help. Thank you. YYYY@YYYY
Your symptoms of severe pain and spasms in jaw along with pain during eating and talking is clearly pointing towards problem with jaw joint causing Temporomandibular joint dysfunction or TMJ/TMD..
So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and a Panoromic x ray should be done..
You can be advised painkillers along with muscle relaxants like Cyclobenzapyrine [Flexeril].. Along with it you can also be advised mouth guards and Physiotherapy.. Along with it take a soft diet, avoid excess mouth opening..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
