Suggest Treatment For External Vaginal Polyp

I have had a small what i thought was an external vigina polyp for a while now, but had quite a fright this evening when it has increased in size and seems to have filled with blood Is this alright? I'm due to go for a smear test next week. I've had a polyp before removed but that was internal and was to my surprise quite large, please try put my mind to rest! Thankyou Julia
