Suggest Treatment For Extreme Mood Swings, Low Energy And Lack Of Sleep?

Hi. I don't feel well at all. I'm full of anger, especially in the mornings and take it out on my child and partner. I'm not sleeping well at night . I hate being woken up. I don't have much energy. Constantly feel my glands are up and I'm chesty. I never feel healthy. I'm afraid that there is some sort of imbalance in me. How do I get tested. What should I do Emma

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern.

I hope this helps you. The symptoms like anger outbursts, poor sleep, low energy, difficulty in waking up, feeling of heaviness in chest etc can occur due to some mood disorder and more specifically in depression. Depression can cause persistent mood swings and irritability. Please consult a psychiatrist for treatment of depressive symptoms. Medicines like SSRIs or SNRIs are commonly used in depressive disorders. Sertraline, Paroxetine, Fluoxetine etc are commonly used.

Apart from medicines cognitive therapy also have excellent role in depressive symptoms. In addition to this supplements containing Vitamin B12, Omega fatty acids etc are also found to be useful in severe depressive symptoms. Please visit a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.

Thanks, Take care
