Hi. I am a type 2 diabetic. I am 65 years old. I have a doctor check my eyes each year and they say everything is perfect with no bleeds behind my eyes. Yesterday I started seeing what I can only describe as a quick flash of light from one of my eyes. It only happens when I turn my head one way. Just wondering if I should do anything like see a doctor. I do see my doctor every three months
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having flashes of light. This usually indicates posterior segment problems like vitreous detachment, retinal thinning, traction on retina... Hence I advice you to consult your doctor or preferably a retina specialist for evaluation to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.
Hope this is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you With regards
