Suggest Treatment For Eye Infection

Hi I have an ongoing eye infection for 9 weeks now, i have used been perscribed antibiotics for 1 week, steriods and and xyzal all of which did not get rid of the infection. I have also used eye cream for a bacterial infection which did not clear it up either. I am currently taking zithromax for 3 days and so far no improvement. My eyes are swollen, red, constant tearing and crusty in the morning. I have swollen glands in neck and constant pain in head, in ear and in face in general. I am short of breath and sore all over. Please could you suggest what I should do now, its driving me insane. I have been to the doctor many times and also to the opticion.

Hello
The history suggest viral infection of the eyes in the form of keratoconjunctivitis involving both cornea and conjunctiva.
The viral infections are the common cause for this type of infections and these tend to run a long course.
The treatment is by the use of antibiotics, steroids and artificial tears eye drops.
I think the treatment by your doctor is in right direction no need to worry it will resolve and continue treatment as per the advice of your doctor.
