Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a dull pain in the back of my left eye. I ve had it for a couple weeks. I wear rigid contact lenses and glasses - that doesn t seem to affect anything. I have an appt. with my opthamologist in July and am trying to figure out if I should get an earlier appt.
The dull pain for long period of time behind eye can be related to visual straining or alteration in intra occular pressure in some of the cases. However, if the details of vision changes if any with constitutional symptoms as watery eye, headache and others will reveal more information if available. Till the time you approach ophthalmologist in July, I would recommend: - Wear protective glasses during visit out of home particularly that in dusty wind or pollen in atmosphere - Regularly splash your eye with cold water at an interval of 4-6 hours - Take out rigid contact lenses on regular intervals of the day - Check that the lens cleaning solution is not out of date
Hope this information will help you in your current situation. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
