Suggest Treatment For Facial Swelling While On Valtrex And Lyrica

Yes I have had shingles for about three weeks on the left side of my face when it started my lymph node was swollen on that side. I took valtrex and steroids for a week and lyrica for pain. The blisters have cleared up however, now my face in my ear has been itching bad so I have started taking bendryl. I still do not have any energy and my tongue and down my throat is numb and feels raw. Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, all the residue symptoms are normal for shingles. They might last a few more days until total clearing up.

Lyrica and benadryl can help ease the symptoms.
Take multivitamin to gain energy. Keep good oral hygiene.

Keep regular follow-ups with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
