Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I struggle with constant fatigue. I am 19 years old, I get enough sleep at night, I eat a well rounded diet, and I keep myself busy. I got blood work done, and I am not anemic, nor do I have an imbalanced thyroid. I am on anti-depressants, and my psychiatrist switched the one I was on that had sedating side effects to one without sedating side effects. At this point I am unsure what else could be causing my constant fatigue... please help!
Most of the anti – depressants which are available in market causes sedation and fatigue. These anti – depressants have depressant effect on our nervous system. So you might feel fatigued, tiredness and sleepy. This is absolutely normal. There is no need to investigate it. Once you stop taking these drugs, your problem of fatigue will resolve. Advice 1. Continue medicines as suggested by your doctor 2. Do alter dose of medicine by yourself unless suggested by your doctor 3. Drink coffee every 8 hours 4. Avoid driving & swimming Thanks
