Suggest Treatment For Fever And Abdominal Cramps Post Pneumonia Recovery

I have recently recovered from pneumonia. I began to experience severe abdominal cramping and I have been running a fever. My doctor first thought it was C Diff, but the lab results were negative. For the last several days I have been discharging mucuous from my anus. For four days prior thereto I was on Flagyl, as my doctor thought I had C-Diff. Any thoughts as to what can be causing the fevers and the mucuous discharge from my rectum?

Hi thanks for asking question
Here are some possibilities in your case.
First get your stool examined for parasite detection.there may be possibilities of amebic colitis.
Second if stool examination show pus cell then possibilities of bacterial enteritis.
Third excess fat intake also can lead to mucus discharge in stool.
Finally intolerance to certain food can be cause like gluten hypersensitivity or lactose intolerance.
If still cause not clear then endoscopic examination needed.
I hope my suggestion will help you
