Suggest Treatment For Fever And Chills

Hello Doctor My wife has fever for the last 9 days, Initially she took crocin & dolo 625. But Fever didn t come down, so we visited near by doctor & he advised to take Azee 500 & Dolo 625. Even after she if getting fever, chillness, tiredness & nausea. We visited another doctor, he asked us to take blood tests & initial investigation didn t reveal any malaria symptoms. Again he asked us to test Leptospira, MP, HbsAg & everything came Negative. What should w do now? she is at home now. Do you suggest us to admin in hospital ?

Hello
Fever with chills and rigor , I would come up with these possibilities , these include:
1 Urinary tract infection as this is most common cause of fever with chills and rigor . Diagnosis can be confirmed by urine culture and sensitivity test . Also get in ultrasound of both kidneys.
2 TYPHOID fever is another such fever which causes low grade fever with morning chills . Diagnosis can be confirmed by Widal test .
3 Tuberculosis , diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest pa view as well as blood for C B C, E S R (in very elevated i.e. > 100 mm of 1st hour suggestive of tuberculosis or any chronic illness).
However there are so many other causes of such fever as anemia , HIV.
So consult another physician and get his opinion.
