I had a very bad cough for 3 days end of nov09 and with fever after that the cough stopped in another 7 days i got a hoarse voice and it is still hoarse . i am a smoker. i have lost 4 kgs in weight in the last 6 months. an xray done this month shows scarring on the right top part of the right lung. i still get cough at night when i am asleep. normal stools i have been referred to a chest expert and an ent but am worried as to what is wrong
Chronic cough with low grade fever & weight loss suggests pulmonary TB(only provisional diagnosis on the basis of symptoms you told). I would suggest you to visit a pulmonologist for detailed workup and permanent treatment. Meanwhile i would suggest you following things: > Take Diphenhydramine + Dextromethorphan for cough. > Take acetaminophen for fever > Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Wishing you good health.
