Suggest Treatment For Fever And Diarrhea In Child

HI.My 3 years old son is having a diarrhea for a week already. He used to have a high temperature for the first 3 days ( still coughing). He has a watery stool, which contains mucus, undigested food. Sometimes its green, sometimes its dark brown. The stool exam shows MACROSCOPY LIQUID, STOOL RBC 1+, STOOL WBC 2+, STOOL YEAST 1+. Is his resault normal? should I give him any medication? Thank you !

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it seems like acute gastrointestinal infection, and may need oral antibiotics and probiotics and zinc orally. Meanwhile analgesic like acetaminophen and oral rehydration salts may be needed.
