Suggest Treatment For Fever And Gas Alongwith Chills
My 29 year old daughter has taken two doses of sulfatrim and now feels feverish and gas chills. I told her not to take it anymore and see her doc tomorrow. She is concerned she is having a bad reaction and is getting nervous. If she only had two doses and doesn t take anymore will she be ok
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of fever and gas chills. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sinusitis or viral pharyngitis. It is due to poor and compromised immunity of body , food poisoning , food intolerance , viral gastritis or giardiasis . Need not to worry. Avoid taking spicy and sharp food. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order ultrasound , stool test and endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe anti viral drugs (acyclovir) or anti bacterial ( amoxicillin ) depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory , omeprazole .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
