Suggest Treatment For Fever And Weight Loss

About three weeks ago, my 20 year old son had a fever for two days. His appetite significantly decreased and is still below normal. He has lost 10 pounds in that three week period. He has never been a sound sleeper, but his sleep has been more disturbed. He has also been pretty thirsty and getting up to go to the bathroom at night is waking him up and then he can t return to sleep. He is getting up about once a night to my knowledge. He always gets up about 4:30 to get a drink because he is thirsty.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, febrile condition in this age group could be due to viral infection which very common cause of fever, because of the fever dehydration develops and it may cause the dry throat so care need to be taken for hydration, if it is the viral fever then it may take some days, till then be patient symptoms can be managed with Tab Acetaminophen and Domperidone as per needed if fever persist for more than five days then routine blood tests may needed with clinical observations hope this information helps.
I find this answer helpful
