Suggest Treatment For Fever, Chills, Body Pain And Hot Flashes

I recently had a fever for 4 days, Tmax 103. Chills/sweats/aches only symptoms. Currently only meds are Lotamax for eye condition, and Lamisil for toenail fungus, 2months done, one month to go on that Rx. All labs 2 months ago and a few weeks ago normal. Derm wanted to make sure LFTs were ok for the Lamisil. Only social drinker, did have a few on my birthday, a few days before fever. During fever: LFTs elvated, platelets low. I am completetly recovered from fever since day 5. MD wants to see me to dicuss. Any concerns?

Hi,

Was there any jaundice then? Fever, chills and body aches without any other symptoms usually suggests a viral illness. Some elevation of liver enzymes and low platelets also can be seen occasionally here, but for a clear idea, we need to see the actual values. Further evaluation is warranted if the platelets and liver enzymes are not heading towards normal(it may take few weeks for them to be completely normal), or if there is any other reports of concern like HBSAg. Your doctor will discuss in detail, but no reason to worry till then.
