Suggest Treatment For Fever, Diarrhea And Stomach Pain In A Child

Hi my 6yr old is sick since last Saturday week. She has had fever and, she is also sleeping a lot and the last few days she s had diarrhoea and she has no appetite and she keeps getting stomach pain. I ve had her at gp twice this week and they keep saying it is just viral. This is day 9 . Should it be gone by now?

Dear patient
Considering your case your daughter might be having enteric fever. Viral fever persists for 4 to 5 days and then relieved by itself. You should take her to pediatrician and thoroughly examined and investigated. Stool examination and ultrasound of abdomen is required to confirm diagnosis. Blood investigation and culture also needs to be done. Do not neglect this and take her to pediatrician asap. All the best.
