Suggest Treatment For Fever, Fatigue And Cough

My daughter (31 years old) is traveling for business but is ill. She have a fever (about 100), with a dry but aggressive cough, shortness or breath and fatigue. She went to an urgent care center yesterday, they took an X-ray and ruled out pneumonia. The advice was that she continue with over the counter meds and wait it out. Her symptoms have been going on for 9 days which seems very long to me. I am wondering if I should guide her to get home to see her physician?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The symptoms what you are describing about your daughter appears that she is having respiratory tract infection.
Kindly do the following to overcome them.
1. Do salt water gargling with warm water thrice a day.
2. Use steam inhalation to liquefy the mucous for easy drainage.
3. Take mucolytic-bronchodilator medications in the form of syrup containing Ambroxol/Bromhexine and Salbutamol as ingredients.
4. Since she has fever and fatigue, she has to take Tablet. Paracetamol 650mg after food.
5. Since pneumonia is ruled out by means of Chest X-ray, she can take a course of oral antibiotics Tablet.Azhithromycin.
6. Take medicated lozenges for throat soothening effect when necessary.
Strictly avoid consumption of cold items like cold drinks and ice cream.
