Suggest Treatment For Fever, Shortness Of Breath, Joint Pain, Headache And Cough

I am a 45 year old female. I have had a fever every day for 22 days, along with shortness of breath, joint pain, headaches, a cough, and weak and lethargic. I have been to see a doctor and PA about 2 weeks ago (8 days into the fever). They ran urine and basic blood tests and said that everything looks fine. I am going to see my regular doctor tomorrow but I m worried that something is really wrong. The last 24 hours I have felt worse, having more weakness, and generally not feeling well.

Hi,

Noted your history of fever for 22 days along with fever, shortness of breath, headache and coughing.
22 days is a long period to suffer in spite of medications and investigations as you have mentioned.
Fever for more than 1 week is said to be PUO means pyrexia of unknown origin and needs an admission to the hospital for teh following reasons:
Temperature chart can tell the type of fever and its relation with probable cause.
Regular tests of blood, regular round by Doctors and nurses helps for diagnosis and to watch for the outcome of treatment.
Special tests like blood culture, urine culture.
CT scan of chest.
Ultrasound of abdomen.
All these things will lead to a proper diagnosis and hence will help for a specific treatment along with symptomatic and supportive treatment.
