Suggest Treatment For Fever, flu And Swelling In Eyes
My wife has had a fever (up to 103-104) and flu like symptoms for approximately a week now. Three days ago her eyes began swelling up. She has seen doctors the last two days. The first doctor prescribed Flonase (though she has no allergies), Zirtec, and Mucinex. After a day of that, the symptoms were getting worse so she returned to be prescribed eyedrops and Omoxycillin (sp). This morning, both of her eyes appear to be getting worse and her fever has remains. Any recommendations?
Hello, You need to give her antibiotics like amoxicillin and clavulinic acid, which is better broad spectrum antibiotic. The flonasenasal spray is a steroid nasal spray is a good medicine but takes atleast 5-6 days to show its effects. In addition to antibiotic you also need to take decongestant like phenyl ephrine and anti inflammatory medicines . But if she looks too ill and there is any swelling in the eyes or decrease in vision you must shift her immediately to a hospital for injectable antibiotics. In doubt do reply
